Shadow of the Volcano

Fifteen-year-old Zipporah “Zip” Anders has been to eleven countries, speaks fluent Spanish, and can start a fire with two sticks and a bad attitude. She’s a missionary kid — part of a family of “missionaries, troubleshooters, and frequent flyers” who go where things have gone sideways and help people find their footing again.

This time the call sends the Anders family to Baños, Ecuador — a beautiful town of waterfalls and hot springs living in the shadow of an active volcano. A pastor who runs the local church and orphanage lies in a coma after a landslide, leaving a congregation without its shepherd and a house full of kids without anyone at the wheel.
