Letter to a Friend

This started out as a letter. Troy Bird owed it to a friend he calls Ty — a friend who stood by him when almost no one else did — and he put off writing it far too long.

Letter to a Friend is that letter, finally written: an honest, tender book about friendship, and about what we owe the people we love when the truth is hard and silence feels safer. Bird writes with nothing to hide and no clean, safe place to point a finger from — he’s writing from prison, and from the conviction that a man still pretending he has it all together has no business asking anyone else to look in the mirror.

It isn’t a book out to win an argument. It’s a book about loving people well enough to say the thing you’re afraid to say.
