A world traveler and layman's philosopher, William C. Risp writes dark and epic fiction — and illustrates many of his own covers.

Known as “Uncle Risp” across the highlands of Papua New Guinea, William C. Risp lives in the American Northwest. A self-proclaimed introvert who finds peace in the solitude of the wilds, he is a world traveler and layman’s philosopher with a passion for nature and the outdoors. Growing up “dirt-floor poor” gave him a perspective often considered eccentric.

A “jack of all trades, master of none,” he makes a location-independent living as a consultant while pursuing his passions for music, art, and writing. A simple man, he seeks to give honor to God.
